Director (Technical & Project Management) - Azlan Sulong
Azlan Sulong completed his Bachelor in Architecture degree with honors at well-known IIIinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, in 1992. Although he could not gain any professional office experience in the USA due the economic recession that hit the country then, he had done part time work of helping his professors preparing working and detail drawing.
He returned to Malaysia in 1992 and started his professional career at medium sized professional practice firm of W&W Architect as an assistant architect.
His main responsibility was assisting the Principal in various aspects, which among others included supervision of office project in areas of design, coordination with clients and other consultants as well contractors and liaison with local authorities and government agencies.

He was entrusted with works that involved with study and preliminary design development, preparation of contract documentation, supervision of project construction until completion. Among the project that he manage were residential development at Kampung Kolam Kuala Terengganu, Baitulmal Complex at mukim Batu Kuala Lumpur and housing development at Bandar Baru UDA, Johor Bahru.
Later in 1996 he moved on to briefly join SAO Architect. As an architect who was groomed to be a well rounded professional in the previous office, he was left work independently in areas of project coordination with clients and other consultants, liaison with local authorities and other agencies, and supervision of project construction. His project included Subang Bestari Housing at Bandar Pinggiran Subang and Worldwide Office Tower at Jalan Bukit Bintang Kuala Lumpur.
In 1997, he joined Zainal Architect, an up and coming architectural firm, as an architect. He again works independently and was involved extensively in project implementation from initial stages until completion of the projects. His main specialty is in detail designing, and he is well versed in CADD and other Windows application.

The Director (Technical & Project Management) - Hamdan Endut
Hamdan completed his 5-year degree of Bachelor of Architecture at University of Houston, Texas in 1991. At the same time, he also pursued and completed his minor in CADD at College of Technology, University of Houston.
He started pursuing his professional career in 1992 at W&W Architect in Kuala Terengganu, as assistant architect and work closely with the Principal of the firm. His main responsibility was in project management and producing architectural presentation, and most of the 2D and 3D graphic including 3D animation for presentation to various clients. One of his unforgettable achievements was his involvement in producing a four-minute-animation presentation of Bertam project in Seberang Prai.
He then joined Mokhtar Rahman Partners in 1993, for 2 years before he joining S.A.O Architect in 1995. During these periods, he assisted

the firms in various fields including supervision of design and production, liaison with clients and other consultants and dealing with local authorities and government agencies. His love in CADD never end and he continued searching & learning, fine-tuning and experimenting with new techniques and software to enhance presentation output. He was involved in projects such as Kenny Heights Development, Telekom Exchange buildings, Kuchai Lama mixed development, Danau KL mixed development and PPR housing at Setapak.
In year 2001, he joined Kumpulan Perunding Sdn Bhd where he continued enhancing and gaining experience in his effort to be more versatile in every aspects of professional practice. Projects undertaken by him includes various commercial and residential projects such as Gardenia factory in Shah Alam and residential development in Precinct 18 at Putrajaya.
He joined Zainal Architect in year 2002, as senior architect and was capable to work independently ranging from project design stage to contract implementation. He was also in-charge of staff training program as to improve the production techniques. Under ZAPGroup Architects Sdn Bhd, he is now in-charge of project management and implementation. Some of his notable contributions in handling projects ranging from residential, commercials, institutional and government bodies are Suria KLCC concourse extension, ILMI (Mindef’s quarters) in Port Dickson and Syabas PJ’s office extension in Jalan Templer.

The Director (Design) - Amir Astar Lukman
Upon graduating from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia with a Bachelor of Architecture in year 2000, Amir started his career as Design Architect with SK Tan Architect. He was assigned to various projects ranging from housing to commercial complexes. He then joined AHA Architects as Project Architect and was involved with various projects including MIMOS office building, Missile Maintenance Facilities for TUDM and Melaka Central Baazar for Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Melaka.
In July 2005, he joined Zainal Architect as an Architect. Under ZAPGroup Architects Sdn Bhd, he was appointed as Design Director and his responsibility includes architectural design and proposals, for various projects ranging from individual bungalows, housing developments, mixed use developments to city/urban master planning. He has been heavily involved in projects such as bungalows in Shah Alam and Wangsa Maju, SYABAS office in Petaling Jaya, RISDA Office in Bera and East Ledang housing development in Nusajaya. His versatility and experiences allow him to design with different architectural style and language. Amir is well versed in using 3D modelling and animation softwares, CADD, Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw and other graphic related applications.

Associate Director | The Town Planner - A. Lokman bin Ab. Ghani
A. Lokman joint Municipal Council of Penang Island (MPPP) in September 1985 as the Town Planner Assistant. His involvements were mainly in development control for the Town Planning Department, MPPP which cover the City of Georgetown, Tanjong Tokong, Tanjong Bungah, Batu Feringgi and Telok Bahang.
In 1992 he then further his studies in UiTM, Shah Alam and returned to MPPP in 1994. Among his new responsibilities were handling the Local Plans Studies and corporate matters.
He joint Penang Shipbuilding and Construction (PLC) as Senior Executive in January 1996. After 6 six months he was promoted as The Regional Manager (Southern Region) which was based in Malacca.
In late 1998 he decided to work for Multiplex Technologies Inc. (PLC), a multinational company based in Canada to handle development projects in Malaysia. By joining this company he managed to restore his technical abilities as he was again involved in town planning and preparing the planning reports.
In 1999, A. Lokman and Mohamad Fauzi founded Arah Rancang Sdn Bhd (ARSB), a company to provide professional services in town planning. ARSB is currently an associate company to ZAPGroup Architects Sdn Bhd and both companies enjoy good working relationship.
